Gentle Readers,

It’s been a few days since our last post. For this, we truly don’t apologize. We’ve had a crazy week with training, Stampede, cooking, golfing, teaching, eating, laughing, MACing, dog walking, FFGing, window shopping, TOOLING, pottery painting, Indian Buffeting, Money-pennying, nicknaming, bike commuting, foot racing, and life in general.

We’ve got big things coming your way… so just hang tight! Keep this website open in your browser at ALL TIMES because something exciting might just happen!

Definitely take our advice and refresh this page atleast fifteen times a day- you just never know what might happen!

But before you hang tight, gentle viewers readers, take a moment to check out this fabulous blog by none other than Kerry Dankers. She’s a great friend of mine and has been a huge inspiration in my speed skating career!

Gurrrrlfren can cook too!

DO IT!

Welcome back.

Well,

I’m going to leave the quirky banter out of his post and shoot straight from the heart. I’m sorry for leaving y’all just hanging out to dry a few months ago when I abruptly and unexpectedly limbo’d The Daily.

I found myself feeling somewhat overwhelmed with life, and The Daily was producing a number of stressors that were completely avoidable… Looking back at it now, temporarily suspending the blog was the best decision that I made. With all do respect to all of you gorgeous readers (aka, there are thousands of you)… I simply had more imperative matters to deal with.

With that being said, however, I invite you all to give me a second shot and to enjoy The Daily once again. I’ve still got a lot to rant about and update all of you on, so if you all are still interested…

I’m down, Ja’s Down, and I’m real.

Climate Change

In Inspiration, Random Rant, Websites on October 15, 2009 at 8:50 pm

Yo yoo yooo,

Okay, so today is ‘Blog Action Day 2009.’  We’re still here to rant about K-Swiss shoes (aka bum shoes), but a slightly more important issue is also worth considering…  Climate Change.  In only a few weeks, the UN will be meeting in Copenhagen to essentially discuss the future of our planet.  We’re not only talking about having a warmer summer (which of course would be nice), but about everything above/below/and in between environmental disasters, famine, and displacement  coming our way.  By informing yourself and actually doing something, perhaps this entire change can be avoided.   If you’ve been living under a rock, well how freakin’ lucky, here’s some information worth checkin’ out.  With hope and determination, -ricky.

Howdy  folks!!

Hope your hump day is going well, just as mine has! Today was very mediocre but I still managed to make it somewhat productive. I had a really hard day of training, yet kept my focus and was proud of my results. I can’t believe that we’ll be in Vancouver for our first really big competition in a little less than two weeks!!!

I’ve got a few really solid ideas regarding the blog coming up… and I’m really excited to share them with you all!!! We’ve got a few heavy hitters lined up to dish the dirt for y’all, so stay tuned because you DO NOT want to miss what’ll be coming up! (Think over-night international superstardom for this blog!)

Regarding todays blogs, I thought I’d give a shout out to one of my head peeps His Holiness, The Dalai Lama. Everyone in Calgary seems to be going a tad nuts regarding his presence, and if you’re like me and need a little touch up course regarding what he preaches, click the link below.

Another one of my favorite sites is one of the ultimate procrastination/educationally inspired/ time wasting tools on the internet. I say its educational because Tobey uses it to prep for geography tests (i.e. Can you name all of the countries in Africa? Or better yet, did you know that Africa isn’t even a country!? I know, right?! I learn something new everyday too!) If you’re interested in mindless yet somewhat intellectual games, click the link below!

The last link I’m going to share is in regards to interior design. Even if you aren’t interested in decoration/design, you’ll LOVE this site. It’s in a blog format, so its super easy to skim and to gaze mindlessly at the pretty pictures of pretty interiors in even more pretty houses. Hell, it’ll probably make you resent your own decorating skills! Thats why I keep my eyes closed when I’m in my room!
